LSE lecture seriesPlease note that the third lecture in the Ove Arup Foundation-funded London School of Economics lecture series, scheduled for 10 May 2011, has been cancelled. Preparations for a replacement lecture are underway, and will be announced here. The purpose of the series is to tackle the disproportionate impact cities have on global carbon emissions, and to explore sustainable ways of transforming the ecological performance of the complex urban environment. The inaugural lecture, ‘Urban Technologies and the Environment’ was delivered by Peter Head, director of Planning Plus, Arup, and investigated the retrofitting of old cities for a sustainable future.
